VOLTE RAFFREDDATE IRFI ha realizzato la sua prima volta raffreddata nel 1980, come parte di un programma denominato "componenti raffreddati per EAF". A quell'epoca questa innovazione consentì di recuperare costi e tempi di manutenzione, così da ripagare l'investimento in pochi mesi. Oggi, con questa tecnologia ormai consolidata e generalmente applicata, IRFI continua a innovare nella ricerca di una sempre maggiore efficienza e di soluzioni progettate e costruite a misura del cliente. Questo sia per le nuove installazioni, ma ancora più importante per i lavori di ammodernamento, dove il rispetto delle misure generali dell'impianto è molto spesso un vincolo. WATER COOLED ROOFS IRFI manufactured its first cooled roof in 1980, as part of its general program " water cooled equipments for E.A.F.". At that time this innovative system enabled the customer to save money and maintenance costs, and to pay back the investment in few months. Today, even if this technology is generally established, IRFI still updates its design in order to provide the best efficiency and "tailor-made" solutions to its customers. This for the new installation, but more important, for the revamping jobs, where the respect of the existing overall dimensions is more often a constraint. The roof can be designed and manufactures either with the so called pipe-to-pipe construction (each pipe assembled close to the other) or with the so called pipe-gap-pipe construction (a gap between the pipes filled with a plate, which is welded to the pipes). This second design provides a generally better slag adhesion.
